The leadership of Honda Philippines Inc. (HPI), announced that the company is targeting sell 20,000 units of the newly-launched Wave RSX to customers in a year's time.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Who disclosed the sales target for the Honda Wave RSX?

The sales target for the aforementioned model was shared by HPI President Susumu Mitsuishi.
  • What is the Honda Wave RSX's retail price?

The drum brake-only Honda Wave RSX is priced at P61,900 while the disc brake-equipped variant costs P64,900.
  • What is the Honda Wave RSX's engine displacement?

The Honda Wave RSX is powered by a 110cc engine with a Programmed Fuel Injection system.
  • HPI President Susumu Mitsuishi revealed the target during a media test ride event at the Honda Safety Driving Center (HSDC) in Paranaque after Carmudi Philippines asked whether the company is anticipating high sales volume for their latest offerings as the local economy starts to show signs of recovery.

The Honda Wave RSX boasts an all-new look with fairings that feature plenty of aggressive lines and sharp angles. The decals used also help promote a more defined look, which further accentuates the distinctive aesthetics unique to the Honda Wave RSX. The muffler, complete with a chrome thermal protector, also offers a sporty and edgy design.

The headlight — with automatic headlight on (AHO) feature — not only ensures that the rider is always visible on the road but also complements the ride's overall styling. The signal lights too are more tapered and adds to the motorcycle's mature design.

Also new is the Honda Wave RSX’s Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-Fi) system, doing away with the dated, yet still reliable carburetor. According to HPI, the Honda Wave RSX achieves a 67.8 kilometers per liter (kpl) rating based on World Motorcycle Test Cycle (WMTC) standards.

It uses a four-stroke, single overhead camshaft (SOHC), air-cooled engine mated to a four-speed manual transmission.

Performance-wise, the small but peppy 110 cubic capacity (cc) engine delivered a smooth and decent ride. Guaranteeing comfort are the pair of telescopic front shock absorbers and twin rear suspensions. Adding some level of stability are the 17-inch wire-spoke wheels wrapped with 70/90 tires at the front and 80/90 rubbers at the rear.

Stopping power comes from either a pair of drum brakes or a combination of drum and disc brakes — depending on the variant.

Useful everyday features include the redesigned meter panel, secured key shutter and integrated seat opener, and large storage box capable of holding personal items.

The Honda Wave RSX is available in Candy Rosy Red, Phantom Dark Silver Metallic, and Candy Caribbean Blue Sea.

Price for the drum brake-only model is P61,900 while the disc brake-equipped variant costs P64,900. The former is now available this month while the latter, per HPI, will be available in October.
