Jetour Auto PH to unveil 2 models 'soon'

Jetour Auto Philippines Incorporated (JAPI) is set to launch at least two models soon.

JAPI Managing Director Miguelito Jose said that the Jetour T2 and as well as the Dashing’s plug-in hybrid version will make its local debut probably within the year.

He made the announcement during the celebration of the company’s 100th-day of doing business in the country.

“With the very aggressive market, especially on new energy vehicles, JAPI is all set to fire their bullets,” the company executive said, adding that the targeted model introductions could be held by the end of 2023 or first quarter of the following year.

While JAPI has yet to share the specific details about the arriving models — the official technologies, their launch date, and pricing — here are some bits of the information gathered from the web.

Launched early this year, the Jetour T2 (popularly known in its home country as the Traveller) is powered by either a pure turbo gasoline engine or a plug-in hybrid version and is offered there in the normal and extended wheelbase options.

In terms of aesthetics, the Jetour T2 has a strong resemblance to the Land Rover Defender and the Ford Bronco sport utility vehicles due to its boxy look.

Inside, the Chinese-spec Jetour T2 comes with a flat dashboard design, vertical air-conditioning vents, a digital cluster, a large floating touchscreen infotainment system, and a futuristic steering wheel design.

Meanwhile, the Jetour Dashing PHEV is the new-energy-vehicle version of the nameplate currently offered in the local market. The aforementioned model reportedly can provide 321 horsepower and 545 Newton-meters of pulling power.

Unless there would be some upgrades in terms of design, customers can expect that the forthcoming hybrid version will be similar to its gasoline-powered counterpart.
