These are the 2024 Toyota GR GT Cup PH winners

Household names in the local e-racing scene continue to secure slots at the podium of the 2024 Toyota Gazoo Racing Gran Turismo Cup Philippines (TGR GT Cup PH).

The trio heading to Malaysia on October 13 for the competition’s Asia Finals will be made up of Luis Moreno (who was hailed as champion for the recently-concluded contest), Enzo Ison (second place), and Russel Reyes (third spot).

In a statement, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) shared that Moreno had 75 points, while Ison and Reyes were neck-and-neck after scoring 48 and 45 points, respectively.

As the TGR GT Cup Philippines’ official website posted, the first-place winner of the national finals shall have a cash prize of P100,000. Further, the second placer will have P75,000 and the third placer, P50,000.

TMP also gave special awards to Ison (Driver of the Day) and Matthew Ang (Fastest Lap).

 Conducted for the first time live in a public venue, the two-day event saw a total of 40 e-racers trying to outpace each other in the virtual tracks.

“This has been a fun event. Thank you so much for giving us sim racers the opportunity to have another shot at the [TGR GT Cup>. Hopefully there’s more to come,” Reyes said.

“Thank you to my family and friends for supporting and helping me. And to my team, Legion of Racers, thank you for the practices,” Ison noted.

“I would like to thank Toyota Motor Philippines for a phenomenal event. It’s the first time we had a live event head-to-head, and it’s good to see more of these events coming out. This year, I had a different approach in terms of training. I wanted to be more open, more dynamic, and I’m happy that it paid off,” Moreno was quoted as saying.

Aside from the e-racing action, TMP also showcased the  (GR Yaris, GR Supra, and GR 86, Fortuner GR-S, Corolla Cross GR-S HEV, and Hilux GR Sport at the venue (SM Mall of Asia) — along with various exclusive GR merchandise.

The 2024 TGR GT Cup PH is sponsored by Petron and GT Radial, and in cooperation with Seiko. This event is also supported by Toyota Financial Services Philippines, myToyota Wallet, Denso, AVT, 3M, ROTA, Tuason Racing, OMP, and Kinto One.

Meanwhile, the leading automotive distributor shared that the second race weekend of the TGR Philippine Cup 2024 (then known as the Vios Cup) is scheduled on September 28 at the Clark International Speedway in Pampanga. Similar to the previous events, the public may watch the on-site spectacle for free.
