2nd Hand Hyundai Accent: Why Would You Want One?
Easily the most popular offering by Hyundai in the entry-level segment in the Philippines car market in its entire run to date, the Hyundai Accent is one well-accomplished model which has been a humongous success in all parts of the world. The Hyundai Accent is that one model which has been instrumental in making Hyundai a household name in the Philippines.
In the Philippines, the Hyundai Accent is currently in its third iteration ever, which is essentially the globally fifth-generation model of the sedan. The Hyundai Accent was launched in the Philippines for the first time ever back in 2006, and since then, it has had a constant presence in Hyundai’s lineup in the country.
Second Hand Hyundai Accent for Sale: Pros and Cons
Here at Carmudi, the Hyundai Accent is one of the most popular choices in the used car section, given its practical and premium option for the segment to which it belongs. Following are all the pros and cons of Hyundai Accent listed:
Used Hyundai Accent Pros
- Impressive premium styling and nice fit and finish levels for the segment
- The refinement levels of both petrol and diesel engines offered are brilliant, even in higher rpms
- The driving position and seats do offer ample amount of comfort
Used Hyundai Accent Cons
- The Philippines-spec Hyundai Accent lacks many of the premium comfort and convenience features offered in the global-spec model
- The steering feels too light at higher speeds, which might not inspire confidence for some
- Rear seats lack knee room for taller persons
Hyundai Accent Overview
Introduced in the Philippines for the first time back in 2006 in the globally third generation version, the Hyundai Accent has been instrumental in building up Hyundai as a brand for common people. This compact sedan from Hyundai offered a big-car appeal, with a premium three-box stance, comfortable driving experience, and potent engine options.
The Philippines car market did receive the globally fifth-generation Hyundai Accent only in 2020, and is available in the following six different variants:-
- Hyundai Accent 1.4 GL MT (without airbags)
- Hyundai Accent 1.4 GL MT (with airbags)
- Hyundai Accent 1.4 GL AT (without airbags)
- Hyundai Accent 1.4 GL AT (with airbags)
- Hyundai Accent 1.6 GL MT
- Hyundai Accent 1.6 GL AT
There are two engine options in total to choose from in the Hyundai Accent. First is the 1.4-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, which makes 100 PS of power and 132 Nm of torque, and then there is a bigger 1.6-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, which churns out 128 PS of maximum power and 260 Nm of torque. Both these engine options can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
All the variants of the Hyundai Accent are available in a single GL trim level, which is complete with basic essentials like a 2-DIN audio system, manual AC with rear AC vents, reverse parking sensors, and dual airbags (optional in petrol variants). However, when compared to the global-spec Hyundai Accent, the one engineered for the Philippines market misses out on several bits like automatic climate control, driver seat height adjustment, steering mounted audio and Bluetooth controls, leather upholstery, and even an electric sunroof.
